The Bills are will deploy Emmanuel Sanders in a large role this season. The team is expected to use him in the role that John Brown filled for several years, according to Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic.
Fantasy Impact: This is significant news considering fellow receiver Gabriel Davis has also received hype in the fantasy community as of late. Instead, it appears Sanders will open the season ahead of Davis on the depth chart. As Buscaglia notes, the Bills are likely hesitant “to put those [large] responsibilities on a first-time starter like Davis in a Super Bowl-contending year.” He added that “Sanders specializes in separation on intermediate routes, a trait found with both Diggs and Beasley. Davis isn’t as capable in this area yet in his career.” He also explains that the Bills tried to trade for Sanders in 2019 but were unsuccessful, which is another indication that they are very high on the wideout. Finally, Buscaglia wrote that “[Josh] Allen often looked for Sanders during spring workouts, trying to establish a rapport with him through meaningful reps.” All in all, it appears Sanders might be a better option than Davis in redraft leagues this year. The former Bronco, 49er, and Saint ranks 70th among receivers in the latest expert consensus draft rankings.
