Per Jon Machota of The Athletic, RB Ezekiel Elliott played with a torn PCL since Week 4 of the 2021 season as reported by head coach Mike McCarthy but should be completely healthy for the start of next season.
Fantasy Impact: This is a bit of an interesting note in regards to Elliott that seemingly wasn’t reported in season but could explain why the star Dallas RB didn’t get his typical volume at times and why backup RB Tony Pollard was more involved in 2021 than ever before. For what it’s worth Elliott did still finish the 2021 season with over 1000 yards rushing and can have Top 5 RB upside when fully healthy. The real question is how will the usage of Elliott and Pollard evolve in the future which we won’t know until closer to the start of next year.
