Veteran quarterback Gardner Minshew II operated the first-team offense on Wednesday, the first day of training camp for the Indianapolis Colts.
Fantasy Impact: Minshew was brought in as a veteran option to complement rookie QB Anthony Richardson, who ran with the 2s on Wednesday. Minshew’s job will be hard to maintain as the expectation is that he is a placeholder for an eventual usurping by Richardson, but Minshew has shown an ability to be a decent-level starter in the NFL. As the Colts develop the toolsy Richardson behind the scenes, Minshew could start half a season or more, making his average draft position of QB36 a potentially smart late-round move in supeflex leagues and best-ball formats.
