According to ESPN’s Lindsey Thiry, Los Angeles Chargers RB Isaiah Spiller is being deemed “week to week” with an ankle injury he sustained during the team’s preseason game and may miss the season opener.
Fantasy Impact: It’s still uncertain how much Spiller will factor into the Chargers’ backfield this season outside of being a handcuff to RB Austin Ekeler, but he may be out for the team’s Week 1 game. Spiller is currently going on average as the half-PPR RB45. This likely shouldn’t affect expectations for him this season, though, as he should be good to go when the team may potentially need him more later in the season. For now, RBs Joshua Kelley and Larry Rountree III will act as the backups to Ekeler.
