Baltimore Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins told Mark Viviano of WJZ-TV that he didn’t participate in mandatory minicamp because of his search for a new contract, despite head coach John Harbaugh citing his absence as a soft-tissue injury. Dobbins declined to comment on whether he was dealing with injury.
Fantasy Impact: Dobbins is looking for a new contract as he heads into a contract year. He is likely looking for some security as he is no stranger to injuries, playing just 23 games in his three seasons and missing his entire sophomore year. When Dobbins has been healthy, he has been impactful, rushing for nearly six yards per carry in his career. While Dobbins is looking for security, the Ravens might not feel security offering an extension given Dobbins’ history. The situation is worth monitoring once training camp comes around in July if the hold-in continues. If he misses more time, RB Gus Edwards presumably takes over the starting role.
