ESPN’s John Keim reports that Washington Commanders’ rookie WR Jahan Dotson has looked “sharp” in minicamp and that he “has been able to develop a solid connection with QB Carson Wentz.”
Fantasy Impact: Dotson, who was a 1st round pick in April’s NFL Draft, was viewed by draft experts as one of the most pro-ready WR prospects who should be able to contribute early in his career. Dotson has been labeled by draft experts as a polished route runner with an impressive catch radius and strong hands. ESPN’s John Keim cited Dotson’s ability to attack defenders’ leverage and use it against them as a strength that has allowed him to separate from veteran CBs throughout minicamp. Dotson should see the field early and often in 2022, but if his teammate, WR Terry McClaurin, continues to hold out for a new contract or if he’s traded then Dotson could find himself in a position where he could be the team’s number one WR as a rookie.
