Steelers wide receiver James Washington has requested a trade, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The 25-year-old is upset with “his limited playtime last season and so far this preseason.”
Fantasy Impact: Washington has built a solid rapport with Ben Roethlisberger. The former is a deep threat receiver who is no stranger to beating cornerbacks on the sideline. Through 45 games with Pittsburgh over three seasons, Washington has logged 1,344 yards and nine touchdowns. He’s currently the No. 4 option on the Steelers’ roster and won’t see a legitimate workload unless an injury occurs. As such, he’s requesting a trade. Washington would be a No. 3 receiver on most teams and could even fit as a No. 2 option with a couple of squads. It remains to be seen if Pittsburgh is willing to trade him, but he should generate significant interest.
