NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the Detroit Lions and former Alabama WR Jameson Williams have agreed to terms on a four year, fully guaranteed contract.
Fantasy Impact: After struggling to find consistent playing time in Ohio State’s crowded WR room, Williams transferred to Alabama in 2021 and exploded onto the national scene. Throw on Williams’ highlight clips and it doesn’t take long to see that he has a gear that not many people on the planet can get to. He consistently ran past and pulled away from SEC defenders to the tune of 1,561 receiving yards and 15 TDs while averaging 20.0 yards per reception last season. Williams and his field stretching skill set compliments the Lions offense well with Amon Ra St. Brown and T.J. Hockenson primarily working close to the line of scrimmage. Williams tore his ACL in the College Football National Championship Game, but early reports indicate that he may be ready to play at the start of the season.
