Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi indicated that RB Javonte Williams’ early-season load could be limited before it starts to expand.
Fantasy Impact: Williams is coming off an ACL tear that ended his 2022 season prematurely. After opening camp off the field, Williams has begun to ease back into things. He sat out the first preseason game but played in the Broncos’ second, seeing three carries and five targets for 30 yards. However, it seems he is not a full-go to begin the season and won’t take over as the team’s bell-cow back. RB Semaje Perine should be the Broncos’ top option outside of Williams early in the season and could be an early-year play for fantasy managers dealing with injuries or suspensions.
