49ers RB Jeff Wilson Jr. (meniscus surgery) is likely out 4 to 6 months after recently undergoing surgery for a torn meniscus.
Fantasy Impact: Tough blow for Wilson who had a strong end to the 2020 campaign. His recovery timeline has him returning sometime in the November timeframe, which isn’t great for his fantasy outlook this season. The 49ers brought in Wayne Gallman and also drafted Trey Sermon to go along with incumbent starter Raheem Mostert. Look for Mostert to get the first crack at the starting job when the season opens in September. Even still, it’s more than likely a committee approach at the running back position in San Francisco.
