Jeremy Ruckert caught his only target for four yards in Monday’s 24-16 preseason victory over the Falcons.
Fantasy Impact: Ruckert caught a touchdown in the Jets’ first preseason but was held scoreless on Monday night. Ruckert comes out of the powerhouse of The Ohio State University and caught some big touchdowns, especially in big games for the Buckeyes. He and fellow rookie Garrett Wilson bring a winning attitude and pedigree along with an expectation of winning to the Jets after their time in Columbus. Ruckert, depending on C.J.Uzomah’s health, will start the season as the Jets’ TE2 and will fight for snaps with starter Tyler Conklin and the aforementioned Uzomah. Ruckert can be a deep sleeper for fantasy managers should they take him in the late rounds, especially in deeper leagues. Ruckert should be drafted as nothing more than that though as he will fight for playing time until he can prove his NFL and fantasy worth.
