According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the San Francisco 49ers have officially granted QB Jimmy Garoppolo and his agents permission to seek a trade after returning to practices.
Fantasy Impact: Reports from yesterday stated that Garoppolo had returned to practice and was targeting mid-August as a return date to receive full clearance. However, with the No. 3 pick from 2021, QB Trey Lance, sitting in the wings, the 49ers have allowed Garoppolo and his agents to seek a new destination, according to Schefter. The Seahawks and Browns have been rumored to be interested in the 30-year-old QB who went 31-14 in the Bay Area over five seasons. With a TD-INT ratio of 66-38 over his time in San Francisco and a few deep postseason runs, if Garoppolo ends up in a situation where he can remain a starter, he could be a target in deeper two-QB leagues.
