Quarterback Joe Burrow returned to team drills on Thursday as he ramps up his activities after undergoing an emergency appendectomy in July according to Bengals.com’s Geoff Hobson.
Fantasy Impact: Burrow participated in 11-on-11 teams drills for the first time since the Bengals’ Super Bowl loss in February. Despite the setback of his recovery from surgery on a ruptured appendix, Burrow still expects to be ready for Week 1 against the Steelers and hopes to be back to practicing fully by next week’s joint practices with the Rams. He is reportedly focusing on making sure he maintains his throwing mechanics and doesn’t compensate due to his surgery, as well as putting back on the weight he lost by eating “everything.” Burrow is projected to be QB7 in 2020 and fantasy managers should not be worried by the surgery but may be able to draft him at a discount if other managers are scared of taking the LSU product.
