Joe Mixon, who had a $9.4 million non-guaranteed base salary, agreed Friday night to restructure his contract to remain in Cincinnati.
Fantasy Impact: “Mixon’s goal is to win a Super Bowl and play his career in Cincinnati and this is the best way to accomplish these goals,” his agent Peter Schaffer said. There had been some rumors of Mixon being a potential release candidate at some point this offseason, but he will remain the lead back in the Bengals backfield this season. The departure of Samaje Perine could open up more opportunity for Mixon in the passing game as well out of the backfield.
