Los Angeles Rams QB John Wolford (appendicitis) will not play in the preseason after undergoing emergency surgery to remove his appendix last week, per Rams’ head coach Sean McVay.
Fantasy Impact: Wolford’s absence from the preseason means Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges and Bryce Perkins will get all the reps. Perkins was an undrafted free agent in 2020 and has spent time on the Rams’ practice squad, while Hodges went 3-3 as a starter for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019. Matthew Stafford was the splash trade made by the Rams’ front office this offseason, swapping Jared Goff and landing one of the best gunslingers in a pass-friendly offense loaded with talent. Stafford will not be featured in the preseason either, allowing Hodges and Perkins to develop across the three preseason games.
