Adam Jahns of The Athletic writes that Bears QB Justin Fields is “captivating camp” with his natural arm talent.
Fantasy Impact: Jahns adds that Fields has been impressing with side-armed throws and deep balls, but that the Bears aren’t altering their QB plans just yet. Andy Dalton remains the starter, for now, but it’s clear that Fields possesses a lot of fantasy upside should he be named the starter early in the year. Therefore, this might be a situation that fantasy players want to get in on early on. “His poise is one of his strengths,” coach Matt Nagy said. “He’s extremely calm. The players feel that when you’re that way. They trust in that. Now, in the live stuff, it’s hard because they’re backed up and these (defensive) linemen are trying to get safeties and hit the quarterback, who they can’t touch let alone be in the halo we talked about around his feet. And Justin had a couple throws (on Saturday) when he was smart enough to make the throw and not necessarily step into it and step on someone’s ankle, etc. So he has a good feel there.”
