Justin Herbert completed 21-of-35 passes for 196 yards, one touchdown, and one interception as the Chargers fell to the 49ers 22-16 on Sunday night.
Fantasy Impact: Herbert tacked on five carries for 22 rushing yards in the loss. Herbert started the game off hot, going 4-for-4 and connecting with DeAndre Carter for a 32-yard touchdown on the opening drive of the game. The San Francisco defense really tightened up after that, limiting the Chargers to punts and field goals for the remainder of the affair. Herbert has not been close to the playmaker he was the past couple of seasons, and the Chargers’ coaching staff is running out some questionable play calling at best. Herbert needs to be relegated to QB2 status until he proves he can turn it around.
