According to Jamison Hensley of ESPN, QB Lamar Jackson and the other Baltimore Ravens QBs struggled in Saturday’s practice throwing a combined nine interceptions, four for Jackson.
Fantasy Impact: According to team writer Kyle Barber, TE Isaiah Likely shared that the team was practicing third-and-long situations, which resulted in a higher volume of interceptions. Some could take this as a negative sign for Jackson as the team trends toward a more pass-happy system in 2023, but it can also be interpreted as a positive sign for the defense. The Ravens’ secondary is thinner in 2023 than in past seasons, and the defense was league average in interceptions forced. They also only forced three interceptions on third downs the entire 2022 season. Given the right context, this report isn’t anything to worry about and should not warrant any overreactions about Baltimore’s offense in 2023.
