Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that the Giants are expected to franchise tag star DL Leonard Williams.
Fantasy Impact: The Giants are expected to use their franchise tag on standout DL Leonard Williams. “It’s viewed as a placeholder for a long-term deal, which the two sides will continue to work towards,” per Rapoport. Williams had an excellent season in 2020, racking up 57 tackles (27 solo), a career-high 11.5 sacks and one fumble recovery across 16 games. The Giants and Williams will now work towards a long-term extension during the offseason. Stay tuned.
