According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Gallup will start the season on the physically unable to perform list. However, head coach Mike McCarthy says Gallup is in the “fourth quarter” of his rehab process.
Fantasy Impact: Archer says the expectation is that Gallup would miss a game or two to start the season. If a player is not lifted off the PUP list before the regular season, they must miss a minimum of four weeks, meaning that Gallup likely will be elevated before the start of the season. Gallup got a big, five-year contract from the Cowboys in the offseason despite his ACL tear, and if he misses just a game or two, that is big news for Dallas. Gallup is currently being drafted on average as the WR49 in PPR formats, according to FantasyPros, a mark he cleared in both 2019 and 2020. At the age of 26, a healthy Gallup and Lamb, who is going as WR7, could see big upticks in production in 2022 with WR Amari Cooper now in Cleveland.
