Jeff Howe of The Athletic believes that free agent wide receiver Mike Williams “will get paid like a No. 1 because that’s what top-of-the-market receivers get.”
Fantasy Impact: Williams recently wrapped up a career year with the Chargers in which he caught 76 passes for 1,146 yards and nine touchdowns. He managed to post strong stat lines despite playing behind alpha receiver Keenan Allen and also losing touches to dual-threat back Austin Ekeler. The Chargers will certainly try to re-sign Williams this offseason, but he is expected to have a vast market. As Howe hinted at, it would not be surprising to see a bidding war break out, leaving Williams as the recipient of a big paycheck. Depending on his landing spot, he could head into 2022 as a high-end WR2 for fantasy purposes.
