There is a “strong belief” that the Giants will sign quarterback Mitchell Trubisky when free agency begins next week. The expectation is that he would compete with Daniel Jones for the starting job.
Fantasy Impact: This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Trubisky linked to New York, but it is the first report that describes the Giants as clear frontrunners for his service. The former first-round pick spent 2021 backing up Josh Allen but is viewed as a player who can certainly compete for many of the QB jobs that remain up in the air. Trubisky hasn’t started a game since 2020 with the Bears, a year in which he went 6-3 with 2,055 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. The former Pro Bowler will generate interest from several teams, but if he does sign with the Giants, he would be a must-add in many superflex formats. Winning the starting job would catapult him to the low-end QB2 or high-end QB3 territory ahead of 2022 fantasy drafts.
