Bills HC Sean McDermott said of Trubisky on Tuesday: ‘it is unrealistic to think we are going to have him back’.
Fantasy Impact: Trubisky is probably the most talented free agent backup quarterback in the league, and the current QB landscape of the NFL means that there will likely be several job openings for starters. Trubisky has been linked to the Steelers and the Bears in separate reports, but wherever he lands, he will be on the radar for fantasy, especially in 2QB leagues. In 2018, he finished as the QB11 on a per game basis, leading the Bears to the playoffs with weapons like Taylor Gabriel, Allen Robinson and Trey Burton. He was selected to the Pro Bowl that season, and averaged just under 19 FPPG. He will be a late round, upside option at the very least if he pursues a starting job in 2022.
