Former Broncos and current free-agent tight end Nick Vannett has reportedly signed a three-year deal with the New Orleans Saints, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Fantasy Impact: Vannett joins his fourth team entering his sixth year in the league, totaling 14 receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown in 15 games for the Broncos in 2020. The Saints have been the subject of much salary cap scrutiny, so seeing the team make a three-year offer to Vannett may surprise some folks throughout the league. With veteran tight end Jared Cook departing for the L.A. Chargers earlier this offseason, the Saints are expected to rely upon second-year tight end Adam Trautman as their TE1. Vannett will likely compliment Trautman as a TE2, particularly in 12 Personnel, as head coach Sean Payton prefers implementing a run-heavy scheme that features star RB Alvin Kamara.
