According to Charles Goldman of Chiefs Wire, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said QB Patrick Mahomes and the team’s other starters will play in the first quarter of Saturday’s preseason opener in Chicago.
Fantasy Impact: While this means almost nothing for Mahomes, who is a bona fide superstar, it’ll at least give us a glimpse into who Kansas City’s starters will be this season. There’s a lot of turnover on the offense at receiver, so it’ll give Mahomes a chance to get live reps with new teammates, but also allow us to see who we can expect to receive snaps alongside Mahomes. Reid also said that each quarterback would run with their group, each getting a quarter, so we’ll see Mahomes and the 1s in the first, QB Chad Henne and the 2s in the second, QB Shane Buechele and the 3s in the third and QB Dustin Crum and the 4s in the fourth.
