The Los Angeles Chargers have selected WR Quentin Johnston with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Impact: Johnston possesses explosiveness with a 40.5” vertical leap and long arms to go with his 6’3”, 208 lb size. Johnston can make catches all over the field, both split out wide and in the slot, and his RAC skill is huge because he is hard to bring down once he’s got the ball in his hands. Thor Nystrom has Johnston as No. 21 overall and WR1 with an NFL player comp of a taller version of Brandon Aiyuk on his Top 500 big board. The TCU product has a tendency to catch with his body rather than his hands at times which can negate his size and can disappear at times like he did in the National Championship game against Georgia. Despite those negatives, Johnston is another big receiver for Justin Herbert to throw to alongside Keenan Allen and “Big Mike” Williams. The potential is there for this to be a dynamite pick and a huge steal for the Chargers who get arguably the best receiver in this year’s draft at No. 21.
