According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, second-year RB Rachaad White “buckled and fell without contact and came up limping” after taking a handoff in practice. He walked off the sideline under his own power and received attention from the trainers.
Fantasy Impact: White is expected to be the Buccaneers’ leader of the backfield in 2022 after usurping veteran RB Leonard Fournette for the RB1 role in 2022. Over his eight starts in 2022, he had 519 yards and two touchdowns, averaging four yards per carry. Hope is that White’s injury isn’t serious and that he’ll be fine for the regular season, but his status should be monitored. If he misses time, RB Chase Edmonds started the Buccaneers’ preseason opener, and RBs Sean Tucker and Ke’Shawn Vaughn could cycle in as well.
