Current free agent CB Richard Sherman could end up waiting out training camp before attempting to sign on a team contending for a Super Bowl, per SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano.
Fantasy Impact: The veteran cornerback was placed on IR twice in 2020, limiting him to five games in a disappointing injury-filled season for the San Francisco 49ers. Sherman is now 33 years old and rumored to be interested in signing with a contender, eliminating the likelihood of a reunion with former 49ers’ DC and current Jets head coach Robert Saleh in 2021. Although the Jets secondary would certainly benefit from Sherman’s presence, it’s very unlikely he signs in New York, as his sights are rumored to be restricted to teams ready to compete for a championship.
