John Clayton with ESPN is reporting that veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick “looks like” he’ll retire, adding that “Fitzpatrick’s retirement is looming.”
Fantasy Impact: Now 38 years old and wrapping up his 16th season for his eighth franchise, Fitzpatrick’s career will be remembered as that of a journeyman and a fan favorite. Throughout his career, he racked up 146 starts, often serving as relief for an injured or underperforming starter. Fizpatrick epitomized the gunslinger mentality and his 223 touchdowns and 169 interceptions show it. The former Harvard graduate put together a solid season in Miami before turning the keys over to rookie Tua Tagovailoa. His Saturday night day-after-Christmas win over the Raiders will be etched into the mind of football fans for a long time. Fitzpatrick was tied to rumors involving a lot of quarterback-needy teams, but if the rumors are true, we’ve already seen the bearded genius take his last NFL snap.
