Adam Schefter is reporting that the San Franscisco 49ers have traded the 12th pick, a 2021 third-round pick, and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023 to the Miami Dolphins for the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Impact: Schefter followed up his initial tweet saying that the 49ers have no plans to trade away quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and do not have a specific player in mind with the third pick. Considering the haul that they gave away to move up, that seems unlikely and they are most likely attempting to keep their cards hidden. With Trevor Lawrence expected to go to the Jaguars with the first pick, that leaves Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, and Justin Fields available as the top-three quarterbacks on the board with the Jets selecting right before the 49ers.
