According to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, Indianapolis Colts LB Shaquille Leonard, who had back surgery in June, is continuing to sit out of practice. Leonard has no timetable to return and will miss some games, but he is expected to return at “some point” in the season.
Fantasy Impact: Leonard immediately emerged as one of the league’s premier linebackers, earning his first of three career All-Pro nods as a rookie in 2018. In four seasons, Leonard has amassed 538 tackles, 30 tackles for loss, 20 QB hits, 17 forced fumbles, 30 pass deflections and 11 interceptions. He is a valuable piece to an Indianapolis defense that finished last season as the DST7, and he finished as the IDP6 himself. The Colts’ DST has an average draft position of DST3 this year, and Leonard’s absence will hurt the team’s ceiling.
