Todd Gurley II, who played through 2020 in Atlanta on a one-year deal, is not expected to be brought back in for the 2021 season according to Tori McElhaney with The Athletic.
Fantasy Impact: Although this isn’t official news, it is expected as Gurley’s production and usage dwindled throughout the 2020 season. After tweaking his knee about midway through the season, Gurley saw just six carries for 15.7 yards per game over the Falcons’ final six games. There’s a chance that another team takes a shot on Gurley heading into next season. Realistically though, the days of being a featured back appear to be in the rearview mirror for the 26-year-old former 10th overall pick. Currently RB41 according to our Expert Consensus Rankings, Gurley probably won’t offer much as a fantasy asset heading into his seventh season.
