According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Dallas Cowboys plan on setting their franchise tag to RB Tony Pollard if no long-term deal is found.
Fantasy Impact: The deadline quickly approaches for players to be given the franchise tag, and by placing a tag the Cowboys could buy themselves a few months to work out a long-term deal. A few complications that could interfere with the process include the contract and status of RB Ezekiel Elliott and Pollard’s fracture to his leg suffered in the postseason. Regardless, Rapoport says the Cowboys intend on Pollard playing in Dallas in 2023.
