Trey Lance completed 13 of his 28 pass attempts for 164 yards and one interception in the 49ers’ season opener versus the Bears. He added 13 carries for 54 yards.
Fantasy Impact: Lance and the 49ers were in full control of the game, up 10-0 midway through the third quarter, until the Bears completely altered the momentum after a broken play that gave them their first score. From that point onwards, Lance generally struggled to push the ball downfield, especially due to the torrential downpour escalating in the final frame. It certainly didn’t help that the 49ers were without the services of George Kittle, as well as Elijah Mitchell for the majority of the contest. While Lance’s passing accuracy may be under scrutiny and potentially a cause for concern, the poor weather conditions make it difficult to assess this early on. Fortunately, he has a fantastic Week 2 matchup at home with the rebuilding Seahawks, where he should bounce back in a big way.
