Vikings tight end Tyler Conklin has improved on the field this offseason. Now filling a TE2 role following Kyle Rudolph’s departure, Conklin continues to “show the impact he can make” during minicamp.
Fantasy Impact: Conklin’s emergence as an above-average TE2 could pay dividends for an electric offense that often features two-tight end sets. This is a system with a lot of mouths to feed, but Conklin, alongside Irv Smith Jr., has shown what he brings to the table. “It’s a bigger role for Tyler Conklin,” detailed head coach Mike Zimmer. “He has kind of emerged as a guy that’s moving upward, and with those two guys, we have a lot of weapons there. … We’re excited about these two young tight ends that we have.” Conklin ranks 51st among tight ends in the latest expert consensus draft rankings, though that could change as the offseason progresses.
