Tyron Smith suffered a severe injury to his left hamstring during practice Wednesday and could miss multiple months of the 2022 season, according to a report from ESPN’s Todd Archer.
Fantasy Impact: When healthy, Smith is one of the better left tackles in the NFL and anchors one of the better offensive lines in the NFL. However, he has played in just 13 games over the last two seasons combined and hasn’t started more than 13 games in a season since 2015. He turns 32 in December and is under contract through 2024, though the Cowboys could conceivably get out of the contract as early as this upcoming offseason. While the offensive line has been an area of strength for Dallas over the last several years, their overall talent level and depth are not what they once were, and a prolonged absence from Smith would negatively impact all of their offensive playmakers.
