Zach Ertz has missed multiple consecutive practices with a calf injury, which forced him to exit practice early on August 4th. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury only added that Ertz is “coming along” with his calf injury.
Fantasy Impact: Ertz’s injury has been kept pretty quiet since August 4th, which is not surprising in the preseason. At this time it seems highly unlikely that his calf issue affects his performance for the regular season. While teammate Deandre Hopkins is suspended, Ertz figures to be a safety blanket for quarterback Kyler Murray for the first six weeks. In 11 games with Arizona in 2021, Ertz finished with 81 targets, 56 receptions, 574 receiving yards and three touchdowns. While Ertz is a better option in PPR formats, managers in all formats will hope his 5.35-touchdown-percentage will increase in 2022.
