NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports that the Eagles are still “sorting through options” on whether Hurts or Gardner Minshew will start against the Saints.
Fantasy Impact: Hurts appeared at practice on Thursday for the first time since injuring his shoulder in Week 15. According to Eagles HC Nick Sirianni, Hurts “threw the ball well…and with good velocity” which is a good sign for Hurts’ managers who survived without him to reach their finals. If Hurts ultimately is inactive again, Minshew showed in Week 16 that he is more than capable of being Hurts’ replacement in reality, as well as for fantasy purposes. Managers should be cautiously optimistic but still have a contingency plan for Sunday. Managers also need to keep in mind that Hurts could have limitations on his play, even if he is active, and could be pulled earlier than usual if Philly gets up big.
