Mike Silver of the NFL Network is reporting that “there’s a lot of trade chatter concerning” Miami Dolphins defensive back Xavien Howard.
Fantasy Impact: Howard reportedly is unhappy with his contract after signing a five-year, $75.25 million extension with the Dolphins two years ago. According to Silver, the All-Pro cornerback wants a new deal after a stellar 2020 campaign. “He’s not likely to get it from Miami, ” per Silver. “It would take at least a first-round pick to land him. There are several teams, all-in win-now mode, pondering such a move.” Howard could force the issue and threaten a holdout during training camp. The 28-year-old racked up 51 tackles, 10 interceptions, and a forced fumble across 16 games in 2020. Stay tuned.
