With the arrival of the fantasy postseason, comes the arrival of another wave of COVID-19 in the NFL, wreaking havoc on fantasy rosters.
Once again as we get closer to the end of this week’s fantasy season, the waiver wire activity continues to decline, as well as the number of people on watchlists. With dozens of players placed on the COVID-19 list, in addition to some scary injuries at this point in the year, fantasy owners may be scrambling to put together a lineup for their do-or-die matchups. Hopefully, there are some season saviors in the Week 16 Waiver Wire.

WWeek 16 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets
Christian Kirk, ARI- WR (76%)
Some may take a brief look at Christian Kirk and think he is inconsistent, keeping him out of starting lineups. However, when you take a closer look, Kirk has performed his best in recent weeks when Deandre Hopkins was hurt. Now, Hopkins is out for the season, leaving the perfect opportunity for Kirk to make a playoff appearance. With his high ceiling, Kirk should be in all starting lineups, let alone on rosters.
Antonio Brown, TB- WR (68%)
AB is returning from his 3 game suspension, and it will be with a bang. Mike Evans? Hurt. Chris Godwin? Hurt. Brown is finally a WR1 for the first time in over a year. We all know what Brown is capable of, and it’s no doubt he will prove his worth after his starting-caliber production as a WR3 early in the season. I would go as far to argue that Brown could be a Top 8 receiver this week, and a potential playoff savior.
Jeff Wilson Jr., SF- RB (56%)
Right now it doesn’t look like there is much hope for Eli Mitchell to play in Week 16, leaving Wilson, who had a great game in Mitchell’s absence to take over. Wilson, who rushed 21 times for over 100 yards and a score is looking at a low-end RB2 status against a Titans defense who limited Najee Harris to just 18 rushing yards this week.
Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET- WR (29%)
Oh, man. I’ve been rooting for Amon-Ra since the draft. He disappointed me, then impressed me, then disappointed me, and now he’s impressing me more than any other time this year. Amon-Ra should certainly be picked up, but I say wait one more week before trusting him in your championship matchup. If Amon-Ra proves what he’s done the last 3 weeks is legit, you should feel more than comfortable starting him in your FLEX spot championship weekend.
Russell Gage, ATL- WR (50%)
To be honest, I’m not quite sure if Russell Gage counts as a waiver wire pick at 50% or not, but he’s here anyway. Since Calvin Ridley stepped away from the game, Gage has been quite impressive. With 29 targets and almost 300 yards in his last 3 games, Gage can now be considered as a touchdown-dependent WR2.
Gabriel Davis, BUF- WR (19%)
Gabriel Davis has been quietly effective for Buffalo this season. Davis has had 3 touchdowns in the last 3 weeks, showing his upside as a red zone target for QB Josh Allen. By no means would I start Davis this week, but he has a juicy schedule to end the season. Davis is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
Justin Jackson, LAC- RB (5%)
Austin Ekeler owners are panicking right now at the very least, as their worst nightmare has come true. Ekeler, the player who likely carried millions of teams into the postseason, has tested positive for COVID-19 and his ability to play this week is now in question. Just as a precaution for Ekeler owners, I highly recommend picking up his backup, Justin Jackson. We have seen Jackson’s upside before, and he would be an RB2 should he be the starter against a struggling Texans defense.
