Antonio Callaway’s Playing Time Could Be Reduced

Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson said rookie wide receiver Antonio Callaway’s playing time might have to be pulled back a bit even after playing 70 percent of the snaps in Week 4. Callaway slipped and had a pass tipped off his hands that went for a pick-six, and he caught just three of his nine targets for 54 yards. He also missed a potential deep touchdown and dropped a two-point conversion in the end zone. “Maybe not playing as many plays as he plays in a game will help him get to step back, take a look, take a blow come back and do it again,” Jackson said. “I like him. Obviously, he needs to start faster in games. I think the footing – I think you guys can see I wanted to take the team there on Saturday and why it was so important.” Callaway has a lot of upside in this offense, but his fantasy potential has yet to be realized. It looks like it’ll take more patience from his fantasy owners in his rookie season. If Callaway is scaled back, receivers Rod Streater and rookie Damion Ratley could see their roles expand behind Jarvis Landry.
