Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield, the No. 1 overall pick, entered the game on Thursday late in the second quarter against the Jets to replace the injured Tyrod Taylor (head). It remains to be seen if Taylor will be cleared to return in the second half, but even if he is, the Browns will likely stick with Mayfield after Taylor was atrocious before leaving with a head injury. Mayfield went 3-for-4 for 47 yards on his lone drive before halftime. In comparison, Taylor was 4-for-14 for just 19 yards to open the game. It’s clear that Mayfield is already the better QB for this offense, so we’d expect him to finish off this game and then be named the starter going forward.
