Welcome to Week 13, everybody. Finally, the bye weeks are behind us and we can play all of our amazing NFL superstars once again. I am a big believer in stacking your best players when playing DFS as opposed to season long fantasy where you may not want to rely on any one team too much.
When playing fantasy football, especially DFS, it’s all about the matchups. You want to find the guys playing the worst defenses against their respective positions even if that means missing out on bigger named guys. Again, it’s all about the matchups. This week should be full of high flying offense now that all 32 teams will be back on the field so now let’s take a look at this week’s top DFS stack plays.
More daily fantasy football help.
Patrick Mahomes (FD $9,500, DK $7,600) and Tyreek Hill (FD $8,400, DK $9,100)
Now I know these two are pricey, but when you have guys of their caliber playing a defense as bad as Oakland, I don’t think you have a choice but to spend up. The Raiders are giving up over 23 fantasy points per game this year to quarterbacks and I expect Mahomes to blow past that mark with ease. With Mahomes slinging the ball around look for Tyreek Hill to expose this lackluster secondary all day, beating them deep a number of times. If you can stomach the price tags, these two must be your top DFS stack play for Week 13.
Jameis Winston (FD $7,500, DK $6,000) and Mike Evans (FD $7,900, DK $8,100)
This week, the Bucs host the Panthers and their 28th ranked pass defense in what should be a very high scoring game. Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston took over (again) last week and played his best game of the year throwing for over 300 yards and 2 TD’s. Most importantly, Winston played turnover-free football, which is what has been his biggest struggle throughout his career.
The last time these two teams met, Ryan Fitzpatrick was starting for the Bucs and he had a monster game, scoring 32 fantasy points, and I think Winston will have similar success. Buccaneers top wideout Mike Evans has been tearing it up all season and this week he should continue his dominance against the 20th ranked fantasy defense against wide receivers. Evans had a terrible game last time he faced the Panthers, but I do not expect him to have a repeat performance, as he should be targeted 10+ times and, most importantly, be a top target in the end zone. Stacking any two players on an offense as good as Tampa Bay’s should lead to big time points.
Russell Wilson (FD $7,700, DK $6,300) and Tyler Lockett (FD $6,700, DK $5,800)
The Seahawks will host their division rival San Francisco 49ers this week in a game that I expect the home team to control throughout. Seattle is coming into this game on a two-game winning streak and playing their best football of the season. While the Seahawks run game has been terrific all year it’s the play of QB Russell Wilson that has really put them over the top, playing at the elite level we all come to expect from him.
This season Wilson’s top option hasn’t been Doug Baldwin but actually deep threat specialist Tyler Lockett. Lockett is in the middle of a career year, scoring eight TD’s and becoming a much more complete WR in the process. This week both Wilson and Lockett have very favorable matchups against a defense that does not have the talent in their secondary to contain a speedster like Lockett. With both of these players being on the cheaper side, you have an opportunity to stack them and then fill up the rest of your roster with a bunch of other great players as well.
