This isn’t a list of the best players for Week 17, but our FanDuel picks will give you the best bang for your buck.
FanDuel Dollar Menu – Weekly Value Picks
Alright, alright, you got me, none of these players actually cost a dollar. What they are is a list of players that provide excellent value for you each week in FanDuel contests. You know, the same way that the dollar menu at your favorite fast food restaurant provides you with a meal that may not be gourmet but it fills you up without breaking the bank. Again, this is not a list of the best players each week, this is a list of the players that offer the best bang for your buck.
With that being said, these are my FanDuel Week 17 value plays.
QB: Tom Brady ($7,600, NYJ @ NE)
In the past two weeks, Tom Brady has simply not looked like the Tom Brady that we have gotten accustomed to seeing. He has three interceptions and only two touchdowns while barely averaging 200 yards in those contests, so I completely get it if you want to avoid him this week, but I will be a buyer. Brady and the Patriots will be hosting the New York Jets with a first-round playoff bye on the line. This is the same Jets defense that a previously struggling Aaron Rodgers just carved up to the tune of 474 total yards, four touchdowns and 42.88 FanDuel points last week. I fully expect Brady will right the ship and produce for those that invest in him in week 17.
Additional Value Pick: Derek Carr ($6,800, OAK @ KC) threw three touchdowns and had 24.2 FanDuel points the last time that he played the Chiefs. He and the Raiders are looking to end the season on a high note by winning three of their last four. It would be an even sweeter victory if they are able to knock their division rival from the first to fifth seed in the AFC playoff race.

RB: Chris Carson ($6,400, ARI @ SEA)
Chris Carson continues to be one of the most underrated running backs in the NFL which is why he consistently ends up on my value list. Carson has scored double-digit FanDuel points in nine of his last eleven games including more than 23 in each of the Seahawks last two games. He is averaging 20.24 FanDuel points in games that he has received more than 20 carries. The Seahawks have dedicated themselves to running the football consistently and that should continue this Sunday against the league’s worst run defense. The Cardinals have allowed a league-worst 153 rushing yards per game and a league-high 23 rushing touchdowns this season. Justin Sablich has Carson ranked as his number two overall running back this week, so it is dumbfounding to me that there are 20+ running backs priced above him. Carson is clearly my choice for top value play of Week 17.
RB: Jamaal Williams ($6,800, DET @ GB)
Jamaal Williams was my top value pick at running back last week and he produced a phenomenal 24.6 FanDuel points. His price inevitably went up $1,000 this week but he is still back on my list as a solid value play due to his production over the past two weeks. He has not only been the leading rusher but he has also been heavily involved in the passing game, catching 10 of 14 targets for 103 yards. The Detroit Lions are visiting the Packers this week and they are struggling in all aspects of the game, therefore I expect the Packers to take an early lead and continue to feed Williams the ball throughout.
Additional Value Pick: C.J. Anderson ($6,200 SF @ LAR) was with the Rams for less than a week before rushing for 167 yards and a touchdown on Sunday. If Todd Gurley is out again this week, look for Anderson to again receive the bulk of the carries and produce another solid day for his owners.
WR: Stefon Diggs ($6,700, CHI @ MIN)
The Vikings offense has shifted to a more run-heavy approach in recent weeks, causing the targets and production of Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs to both take a hit. Still though, Diggs is an elite talent that has produced big games throughout the year and he is now available at a great price. He produced one of his best games of the season against this same Bears defense six weeks ago by catching 13 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown. He may not replicate that performance but at $6,700 it is hard to find another receiver with a ceiling this high.
WR: Alshon Jeffery ($6,500, PHI @ WAS)
Alshon Jeffery has found his way onto my list of value plays for a second consecutive week. The Eagles offense again looked very good in a big win over the Houston Texans last week. The Eagles now visit the Redskins as they try to win their way into an NFC wild card spot. Nick Foles trusts Jeffery and looks for him in big moments. I expect him to look his way often in this contest and the pair should add to the 240 yards that they have combined for over the past two weeks. The Redskins defense has struggled at times this season and they are in a bit of a freefall having just released starting safety D.J. Swearinger.
Additional Value Pick: Sterling Shepard ($5,500, DAL @ NYG) has been playing well in place of the injured Odell Beckham Jr., most recently catching six of seven targets for 113 yards. It appears Beckham Jr. will be out again this week, making Shepard a great option for $5,500 against a Cowboys team that will likely be resting some defensive starters.
TE: Rob Gronkowski ($5,800, NYJ @ NE)
Rob Gronkowski has looked like a shell of his former self during a majority of this season, including his two most recent games. This has brought his price down incredibly low, making it a perfect time to invest in Gronk. As with Brady, I understand if the recent struggles make you steer clear of him but he is worth a flier at $5,800. A late December game against the Jets in Foxborough with a playoff bye and home field advantage on the line seems like a perfect time for a vintage Brady to Gronk performance. Also, he did have 56 yards and a touchdown in their last meeting.
Additional Value Pick: Evan Engram ($5,900 DAL @ NYG) is another Giant that has clearly benefitted from the absence of Odell Beckham Jr. In the past two games Engram has caught 14 of 18 targets for 162 yards. Again, the Cowboys have nothing to play for in this one and could rest some defensive starters paving the way for Engram to put together a good fantasy stat line.
DEF: Bills ($3,700 vs MIA)
The Bills have consistently found their way onto my list of value plays throughout this season. They are the top pass defense in the league and second overall defense. This does not always translate to FanDuel points but this week against the 30th ranked offense of the Miami Dolphins, it should. Opposing defenses have averaged 15 FanDuel points in the past two games against the Dolphins. The Bills are priced as the 18th defense this week but are clearly a top 10 choice.
Additional Value Pick: Eagles ($4,000 @ WAS) The Eagles are playing to continue their season in the playoffs while the Redskins are on their fourth quarterback of the season and are out of playoff contention. The Eagles defense has been solid over the past month as they have been pressuring the quarterback (12 sacks in 4 games) and causing turnovers (8 in 4 games).
