QB — Philip Rivers ($8,000, LAC @ DEN, Proj. Own: 0.9%)
“The Rivers-to-Allen connection has been strong all year with Allen receiving 7 or more targets in seven straight weeks. With Broncos top CB Chris Harris on IR, Allen is in prime position to feast on a young and inexperienced Denver secondary. After last week’s disappointing loss to the Ravens I expect Rivers to sling the ball all over the field with Allen being his top target as usual.” — Elliott Berk, 5thDownFantasy.com.
RB — Jamaal Williams ($6,800, DET @ GB, Proj. Own: 9%)
“Jamaal Williams was my top value pick at running back last week and he produced a phenomenal 24.6 FanDuel points. His price inevitably went up $1,000 this week but he is still back on my list as a solid value play due to his production over the past two weeks. He has not only been the leading rusher but he has also been heavily involved in the passing game, catching 10 of 14 targets for 103 yards. The Detroit Lions are visiting the Packers this week and they are struggling in all aspects of the game, therefore I expect the Packers to take an early lead and continue to feed Williams the ball throughout.” — Joshua Mutters, 5thDownFantasy.com.
RB — Chris Carson — ($6,400, ARI @ SEA, Proj. Own: 29%)
“Chris Carson continues to be one of the most underrated running backs in the NFL which is why he consistently ends up on my value list. Carson has scored double-digit FanDuel points in nine of his last eleven games including more than 23 in each of the Seahawks last two games. He is averaging 20.24 FanDuel points in games that he has received more than 20 carries. The Seahawks have dedicated themselves to running the football consistently and that should continue this Sunday against the league’s worst run defense. The Cardinals have allowed a league-worst 153 rushing yards per game and a league-high 23 rushing touchdowns this season. Justin Sablich has Carson ranked as his number two overall running back this week, so it is dumbfounding to me that there are 20+ running backs priced above him. WR — Robert Woods — ($7,600, SF @ LAR, Proj. Own: 16.6%)
“Since Cooper Kupp’s season-ending injury in Week 10, Woods ranks fifth among wide receivers in expected (18.1) and eighth in actual fantasy points per game (18.8). Over this span he’s run 69% of his routes from the slot (59% last week), which means an ideal matchup this week against a San Francisco defense that is giving up the fifth-most fantasy points per game to opposing slot wide receivers.” — Scott Barrett, RotoGrinders.com.
WR — Keenan Allen — ($7,600, LAC @ DEN, Proj. Own: 9.6%)
“Excluding Week 15, when Allen exited in the first quarter with an injury, Allen is averaging 21.1 fantasy points per game since Week 9 (third-most). The Chargers should be playing all out for the No. 1 seed, and Allen gets a soft matchup in the slot against the Chris Harris Jr.-less Broncos. Harris’ replacement is safety Justin Simmons, who ranks sixth-worst of 89 qualifying safeties in PFF coverage grade.” — Scott Barrett, ProFootballFocus.com.
WR — Stefon Diggs — ($6,700, CHI @ MIN, Proj. Own: 16.1%)
“The Vikings offense has shifted to a more run-heavy approach in recent weeks, causing the targets and production of Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs to both take a hit. Still though, Diggs is an elite talent that has produced big games throughout the year and he is now available at a great price. He produced one of his best games of the season against this same Bears defense six weeks ago by catching 13 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown. He may not replicate that performance but at $6,700 it is hard to find another receiver with a ceiling this high.” — Joshua Mutters, 5thDownFantasy.com.
TE — Rob Gronkowski — ($5,800, NYJ @ NE, Proj. Own: 34.4%)
“Rob Gronkowski has looked like a shell of his former self during a majority of this season, including his two most recent games. This has brought his price down incredibly low, making it a perfect time to invest in Gronk. As with Brady, I understand if the recent struggles make you steer clear of him but he is worth a flier at $5,800. A late December game against the Jets in Foxborough with a playoff bye and home field advantage on the line seems like a perfect time for a vintage Brady to Gronk performance. Also, he did have 56 yards and a touchdown in their last meeting.” — Joshua Mutters, 5thDownFantasy.com.
FLEX — Sony Michel ($7,200, NYJ @ NE, Proj. Own: 17.8%)
“The Patriots need to beat the Jets in Week 17 to lock up the No. 2 seed in the AFC, and Sony Michel might be the catalyst of their offense. While that’s strange to say about a team led by Tom Brady, this is where New England is at on offense right now. Michel was great in Week 16 against Buffalo with 18 carries for 116 yards and a touchdown, and he snapped a three-game slump where he scored seven PPR points or less. But one of his best games this season came against the Jets in Week 12 when he had 21 carries for 133 yards and a touchdown, as well as two catches for 12 yards on two targets. Michel also has at least 17 PPR points in four of the five home games he’s played this season.” — Jamey Eisenberg, CBSSports.com.
DEF — Bills ($3,400, MIA @ BUF, Proj. Own: 16.8%)
“The Bills have consistently found their way onto my list of value plays throughout this season. They are the top pass defense in the league and second overall defense. This does not always translate to FanDuel points but this week against the 30th ranked offense of the Miami Dolphins, it should. Opposing defenses have averaged 15 FanDuel points in the past two games against the Dolphins. The Bills are priced as the 18th defense this week but are clearly a top 10 choice.” — Joshua Mutters, 5thDownFantasy.com.
