FanDuel Dollar Menu – Weekly Value Picks

Alright, alright, you got me, none of these players actually cost a dollar. What they are is a list of players that provide excellent value for you each week in FanDuel contests. You know, the same way that the dollar menu at your favorite fast food restaurant provides you with a meal that may not be gourmet but it fills you up without breaking the bank. Again, this is not a list of the best players each week, this is a list of the players that offer the best bang for your buck.

With that being said, these are my FanDuel value plays for Week 8.

QB: Mitchell Trubisky ($7,700, NYJ @ CHI)

Mitchell Trubisky struggled on Sunday against the New England Patriots while barely completing 50 percent of his passes and throwing two interceptions.  Luckily for his FanDuel owners, a poor day of real football doesn’t always mean a poor day of fantasy football.  Trubisky still earned 33+ FanDuel points, trailing only Patrick Mahomes in points scored by a quarterback in Week 7.  In his last three games, Trubisky has averaged more than 35 F.P.P.G. making him the highest scoring FanDuel player during that time.  This week he will attempt to keep it rolling as the 20^th ranked pass defense of the New York Jets visits Soldier Field.

Additional Value Pick: Jameis Winston ($7,800, TB @ CIN) is averaging 422 total yards per game in his first two starts of the season.  He now travels to Cincinnati to take on the 31^st ranked defense of the Bengals.  It should be another productive day.

RB: Phillip Lindsay ($6,500, DEN @ KC)

Phillip Lindsay is quietly having a very good season in Denver.  The undrafted rookie is averaging 5.8 yards per carry and is showing that many teams missed out when passing on him in the NFL draft.  In addition to getting it done on the ground, he has displayed very good receiving skills on his way to catching 15 of his 20 targets.  After putting up 16+ FanDuel points one week ago, he now visits the same last ranked defense of the Kansas City Chiefs that allowed fellow rookie Sony Michel to rush for 106 yards and two TDs.  Lindsay should receive plenty of touches on the ground and through the air in this contest, resulting in solid fantasy output.

RB: Jalen Richard ($5,700, IND @ OAK)

Marshawn Lynch is now on IR with a groin injury and someone has to serve as his replacement.  All indications point to Doug Martin being that guy on early downs but my money is on Jalen Richard to produce more points for fantasy owners.  Richard has five or more receptions in every game except one this season and with the absence of Amari Cooper that number could increase.  They will likely be trailing on Sunday when Andrew Luck and the Colts visit, resulting in more snaps, carries, and targets for the explosive running back.

Additional Value Pick: Marlon Mack ($6,700 IND @ OAK) had a career day versus the 4^th ranked defense of the Buffalo Bills in Week 7 resulting in 30+ FanDuel points.  This week he will see the 26^th ranked defense of the unraveling Oakland Raiders.  Mack should have a great day in Oakland.

WR: Jarvis Landry ($6,700, CLE @ PIT)

I was all in on Jarvis Landry last week because of his low price tag, high number of targets, and opponent’s poor pass defense.   Same story, different week.  After his 10-catch, 97-yard performance that was capped off with a TD in week 7, his price tag only rose $200 to $6,700 this week against the 27th ranked pass defense of the Pittsburgh Steelers.  It should be much of the same for Landry as the Browns attempt to keep pace with the explosive offense of the Steelers.

WR: Doug Baldwin ($6,400, SEA @ DET)

In Week 6 Doug Baldwin appeared to finally be back from his knee injury and he looked very much like the Doug Baldwin we have seen over the last several years.  He led the team in targets and yards while posting a solid fantasy performance.  Baldwin will travel to Detroit to try and exploit a Lions defense that allowed Danny Amendola and Davante Adams 17+ and 24+ FanDuel points in their most recent games.

Additional Value Pick: Martavis Bryant ($5,300, IND @ OAK) will start opposite Jordy Nelson following the departure of Amari Cooper.  Though Bryant has struggled this season with the Raiders, he will be given the opportunity to make an impact as his target share will certainly increase.  He has the physical tools to take advantage of those opportunities and at $5,300 his upside could be worth the risk.

TE: David Njoku ($5,700, CLE @ PIT)

Young quarterbacks often have a tendency to lean on their tight end.  This seems to be playing out in Cleveland as Baker Mayfield is looking for and finding David Njoku regularly in the passing game.  Over the last four games, Njoku has totaled 35 targets while surpassing 52 yards in each of the contests.  He has found the end zone in back-to-back weeks and will look to keep that momentum rolling against the 27^th ranked pass defense of the Steelers.

Additional Value Pick: C.J. Uzomah ($5,400, TB @ CIN) is making the most of his opportunity following the injuries to Tyler Eiffert and Tyler Kroft.  He has scored 8+ FanDuel points in each of his last two contests and this week the horrific pass defense of the Buccaneers comes to town.  He could easily find himself visiting the end zone for a second consecutive week.

DEF: Cardinals ($3,400 vs SF)

The Cardinals are home again this Sunday after an embarrassing loss to Denver last Thursday night.  The defense now gets to face the same 49ers team that they scored 21 FanDuel points against just three weeks ago.  The defense, which is averaging over 8 F.P.P.G., should come out ready to redeem themselves after last week’s ugly performance.

Additional Value Pick: Ravens ($3,700 @ CAR) Baltimore is traveling to Carolina to take on the Panthers following a heartbreaking loss to New Orleans.  Cam Newton and the Panthers offense present challenges for the top ranked defense of the Ravens. I expect them to attack him with pressure much like they did Marcus Mariota en route to 11 sacks just two weeks ago.
