FanDuel Week 12 Value Picks: D.J. Moore, Tarik Cohen, and Carson Wentz are among this week’s smart FanDuel plays that won’t break the bank.
The FanDuel Dollar Menu provides you with a list of players that provide excellent value for you each week in FanDuel contests. You know, the same way that the dollar menu at your favorite fast-food restaurant provides you with a meal that may not be gourmet but it fills you up without breaking the bank.
FanDuel Dollar Menu – Week 12 Value Picks
QB: Carson Wentz ($7,300 SEA @ PHI)
Carson Wentz has faced some of the league’s top defenses in recent weeks and has been average, but that is likely to change this week. In week 12 the Seattle Seahawks will make the cross-country trip to Philadelphia and will bring one of the league’s worst pass defenses.
The Seahawks are allowing a tick under 272 yards per game through the air this season. In the three games prior to their game against the 49ers, opposing quarterbacks averaged 21.64 FanDuel points. Seattle has also struggled against tight ends this season and Carson Wentz just so happens to have two very talented ones to throw to. Wentz is a borderline top 10 play this week and he will reward investors well.
Additional Value Pick: Jeff Driskel ($7,300 DET @ WAS) has averaged 23 FanDuel points in his two starts against formidable defenses. This week he will face a Washington Redskins defense that no one would describe as formidable. Driskel has been getting it done through the air (478 and three touchdowns) and on the ground (88 yards and a touchdown). He is a good play this week at $7,300.
RB: Tarik Cohen ($5,700, NYG @ CHI)
Tarik Cohen has back to back games with a receiving touchdown and is becoming more involved in the offense. In his most recent contest, he caught five of the six passes thrown his way and received nine carries, which is the same as his total from the three previous games combined. Cohen and the Bears now host the league’s 27th ranked defense of the New York Giants, which should present opportunities for Cohen to produce. He is priced low for a back that could easily produce 15+ FanDuel points.
RB: Kareem Hunt ($5,600, MIA @ CLE)
Kareem Hunt has returned from suspension to an abundance of opportunities. In two games he has caught 13 of 17 targets and has 23 touches total. For running backs facing the Miami Dolphins, opportunities most likely equal success. The Dolphins are the 31st rush defense in the league and have struggled to stop opposing offenses all season, as they allow 148 rushing yards per game. This could be Hunt’s breakout game with the Browns and he is priced very well at $5,600.
Additional Value Pick: Derrius Guice ($5,400, DET @ WAS) may take over lead back duties as Adrian Peterson is dealing with a toe injury. Guice returned last week to score 13.4 FanDuel points in limited action against the Jets. This week brings the Detroit Lions and their soft run defense to town, making this an appealing matchup for the low-priced running back.
WR: Calvin Ridley ($6,700, TB @ ATL)
Calvin Ridley is coming into week 12 off of his best game of the season. Week 11 saw Ridley catch all eight of the balls thrown his way for 143 yards and a touchdown. Since Mohamed Sanu is now a Patriot, Ridley is the unquestioned second option at wide receiver behind Julio Jones. This means extra chances for Ridley to produce and he should do so against the dreadful pass defense of the Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers actually allow the most FanDuel points to wide receivers weekly and they are 31st in overall pass defense. Matt Ryan and all Falcons pass catchers should thrive this week, invest accordingly.
WR: D.J. Moore ($6,400, CAR @ NO)
D.J. Moore is back on the Dollar Menu for a second consecutive week. Moore caught eight passes for 95 yards last week on a whopping 15 targets. That brings his most recent three week total to 24 catches on 36 targets for 316 yards. He hasn’t found the endzone since week 4 but if he continues with these receiving numbers he will inevitably find paydirt. The Saints allow the 20th most FanDuel points to opposing receivers and they will likely focus on Christian McCaffrey, leaving ample opportunities for Moore to take advantage of. He is priced low for a productive receiver in a solid matchup.
Additional Value Pick: Jamison Crowder ($6,500, OAK @ NYJ) has 76 yards or more and a touchdown in each of his last three games. He now squares off against the 27th ranked pass defense of the Raiders in a matchup that he should exploit.
TE: Ryan Griffin ($5,600, OAK @ NYJ)
Ryan Griffin has come on as of late and is becoming a valuable fantasy tight end. If you remove the game that Chris Herndon returned and took his snaps away, Griffin is averaging 13.3 FanDuel points in his last three games. In his most recent contest, he caught all five of his targets for 109 yards and a touchdown. Griffin’s week 12 opponent, the Oakland Raiders, have struggled mightily to guard tight ends this season as they rank 30th against the position. Griffin should again have a solid game and is priced lower than players I expect him to outscore.
Additional Value Pick: Vance McDonald ($5,300 PIT @ CIN) has received seven targets in each of the Steelers over the last three games. He has 11 catches during that stretch and he will likely continue to see this target share this week against the league’s worst defense. McDonald has definite double-digit point potential this week at a great price.
DEF: Bills ($4,700 vs DEN)
The Bills are a top defense this week as the Broncos travel from Denver to Buffalo for a 1 pm game. The Bills are coming in hot off of a seven sack performance last week. Brandon Allen will be making his third career start and both of his running backs are a little dinged up. I expect the Bills to force Allen to beat them throwing the ball and pressure him the same way that they did Ryan Fitzpatrick in week 11. Sacks and ultimately turnovers should come, making the Bills a good play this week.
Additional Value Pick: Browns ($4,500 vs MIA) After the frackus with the Steelers, the Browns will be without Myles Garrett, who is arguably their best player, for the remainder of the season. Fortunately for them, they get to play the Dolphins this week. The Dolphins just surrendered seven sacks to the Bills in week 11 and are the most FanDuel friendly offense for opposing defenses to play. The Browns are priced well and could produce double-digit points this week.
