Week 7 Fantasy Football Target Forecast: What can we expect this week in fantasy football from some of the game’s top-pass catchers? See how the latest target trends are having an impact on your players.
WR – Demaryius Thomas (DEN) at ARI – THU 5:20 PM PT
Coming off two strong performances, Demaryius Thomas looks to regress towards his mean. While Thomas has caught a touchdown pass in each of his last two games, he’s done so on 6 and 4 targets. Last week, Thomas played only 73% of offensive snaps. In the last four games, he’s seen an average of just 5.5 targets. On the contrary, Courtland Sutton has seen 5.3 targets during this span. With Emmanuel Sanders and Case Keenum continuing their strong rapport, and the Broncos struggling to pass with consistency, Thomas is trending towards WR3 status. This week, he’ll see a healthy dose of Patrick Peterson on the outside. It’s best to avoid this situation come Thursday.
WR – Christian Kirk (ARI) vs. DEN – THU 5:20 PM PT
Christian Kirk has become the preferred passing option of Josh Rosen. The rookie wideout has seen an average of 6 targets over the past four weeks since Rosen took over. The Broncos-Cardinals game projects a mere 42 points, but Kirk is in a nice spot here. He very modestly should put up another decent target total as he faces off against a very average Bradley Roby on the left side of the field. Temper expectations of WR1 numbers, as the Cardinals are still the Cardinals, but look to Kirk if in need of 5-7 targets as a weekly replacement.

WR – Robert Woods (LAR) at SF – SUN 1:25 PM PT
This year, Robert Woods has truly emerged as a consistent fantasy option. Averaging 8.5 targets per game, Woods has produced a weekly 6 / 87 / 0.5 stat line. Cooper Kupp has already been ruled out this week against the 49ers. While this definitely implies more targets for Woods, the type of targets he’ll see is more of concern. Woods should garner extra red zone looks as a result of Kupp’s absence. Against the 49ers, in a game where the Rams will likely post three to five touchdowns, Woods has great odds of finding the end zone. Enjoy the positive matchup, in favorable circumstances, as Woods makes for an elite play this week.
TE – C.J. Uzomah (CIN) at KC – SUN 5:20 PM PT
A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd are the clear No. 1 and No. 2 passing options for the Cincinnati Bengals, but C.J. Uzomah has been given a great opportunity to become the third viable option for Andy Dalton. Accumulating 7 targets last week, Uzomah was well utilized in a true back and forth game. Seeing 92% of snaps, Uzomah was on the field 81% more of the time than any other TE. In a very likely shootout this week against the Kansas City Chiefs, Uzomah should once again post a nice target total. Feel confident playing him, as the Bengals-Chiefs game boasts a whopping 58.5 point game total.
WR – Taylor Gabriel (CHI) vs. NE – SUN 10:00 AM PT
Taylor Gabriel is in an interesting spot this week. He’s posted two nice totals in back-to-back weeks, but has seen a decrease in snaps with the addition of Anthony Miller back from injury. While Gabriel only played on 66% of snaps last week, he was highly efficient while on the field and caught all 5 of his targets for 110 yards. Given the positive game environment, playing against the Patriots this week, Gabriel should continue to see favorable opportunities. While he’s not a main cog in the Bears offense, there’s something to be said for his big play ability and multi-functional use. He should likely see a similar target total this week and could very well stay efficient as the Bears play a highly competitive game against the Patriots.
