Believe it or not, it is possible to gain an advantage in fantasy football each week with the many streaming kickers who are available on the waiver wire.
With the playoffs underway in nearly every league at this point, it is essential to gain every advantage possible on a weekly basis. In most leagues, this week will represent the semifinals, and thus, a chance at an appearance in a fantasy championship game is on the line. Last week, presumably the first week of the fantasy playoffs, there were a few kickers who stood out.
The highest-scoring kicker of the week was Mike Badgley who scored an impressive 17 points. Badgley is only 22-percent owned and could have easily been streamed in most leagues last week. Remember, there is always a kicker available on the waiver wire that could give your team a huge advantage at a position that many people will overlook. Don’t sleep on the kicker position in your fantasy lineup. Look to stream the following kickers in Week 15 to solidify a spot in the fantasy championship.
Streaming Kickers
Aldrick Rosas (NYG)
Aldrick Rosas’s ownership percentage is one of the most baffling things in fantasy football this season. He is the No. 6 kicker on the season, yet he remains owned in only 15 percent of leagues.
The Giants offense has been clicking lately and Rosas has benefitted heavily, scoring 10 points or more in each of the previous four weeks while averaging nearly 12 points per game over that stretch. If I were to tell you that you could pick up a top 6 running back or wide receiver off the waiver wire this week, no one would hesitate to do so. The same urgency should be taken with Rosas, who has been so consistent lately that he should be nearly universally started this week.
Ryan Succop (TEN)
Ryan Succop is the No. 14 kicker in fantasy at this point in the season. However, this week Succop gets a very favorable matchup against the Giants, who are allowing the most points per game to the position. The Giants are allowing an average of 10.4 points per game to opposing kickers this season, and that includes last week where they allowed 0 points to the position.
The Titans are much more equipped to move the ball than the Redskins were with a combination of Mark Sanchez and Josh Johnson. Look for Succop to cash in on this great matchup and benefit those owners who stream him in their semifinal matchup.
Sebastian Janikowski (SEA)
Sebastian Janikowski is in a great spot for a kicker considering the Seahawks conduct such a run heavy offense. The offense is designed to move the ball consistently throughout the game, which ideally will lend itself to a good amount of field goal attempts per game. The only thing that has kept Janikowski from being one of the top kickers in the league has been Russell Wilson’s unsustainably high touchdown percentage, given the low volume of passes he throws.
Janikowski has been reliable of late, not missing a kick since Week 9. Given the favorable matchup with the 49ers this weekend, Janikowski should be put in plenty of opportunities to kick. Look for Janikowski to hit the 10-point threshold and help your team advance to Week 16.
