5 Up in Week 11
Derek Carr (QB, OAK)
“The Bengals are No. 5 in Fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks, and only Josh Allen in Week 2 and Russell Wilson in Week 1 failed to score at least 21 Fantasy points against Cincinnati. For the season, the Bengals allow an average of 25.1 Fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.” — Jamey Eisenberg, CBS Sports
“Carr has thrown for 285 yards or more and multiple touchdowns in three of his last four games and the Bengals are giving up an average of 26.67 FanDuel points per game to quarterbacks over their past five games. This week sets up nicely for Carr to perform at a level far above his pricing, which ultimately makes him a very good value.” — Joshua Mutters, 5th Down Fantasy
Joe Mixon (RB, CIN)
“Oakland has allowed 100 yards and/or a touchdown to a running back in five straight games, a skid that includes five receiving scores (something Mixon has proven to be able to do). Mixon has received at least 20 touches in each of his past two games, both blowout losses. This matchup has a chance to be a little bit closer, so it’s probable he’ll continue to see a nice amount of work.” — Dave Richard, CBS Sports
Devin Singletary (RB, BUF)
“Among running backs with at least 60 touches, Singletary is No. 7 in Pro Football Focus’ elusive rating and averaging a robust 6.77 yards per touch. Buffalo enters this one as 6.5-point favorites, so game script figures to be on Singletary’s side. Even if it’s close, Singletary has ran 71 routes to Gore’s 20 over the last three weeks. Singletary is a rock-solid RB2.” — Nick Mensio, Rotoworld
D.J. Moore (WR, CAR)
“D.J. Moore has averaged 10 targets and 7 catches over the Panthers last four games. He has 16 catches and 221 combined yards in his last two games and he and the Panthers host the 25th ranked pass defense of the Atlanta Falcons this week. The Falcons have found stopping opposing receivers difficult throughout the season, most recently allowing Michael Thomas to catch 13 of 14 targets for 152 yards.” — Joshua Mutters, 5th Down Fantasy
“Moore had his second 100-yard game in a row in Week 10 and caught nine of 11 targets. He has been splitting targets with Curtis Samuel, but has been much more effective with them of late. The Panthers face a porous Falcons secondary in Week 11, making Moore a borderline WR1.” — Samantha Previte, NY Post
John Brown (WR, BUF)
“The overall WR33 in half-PPR fantasy points per game, Brown has shown a solid floor in his first year with the Bills but hasn’t really provided the high-ceiling games we were used to in Arizona and Baltimore. Brown has just one 100-yard game on the year, all the way back in Week 1, and only two touchdown catches. But he does have at least five catches and/or 51 yards in every game this season while leading the Bills in targets at 7.9 per week. The floor is there, but this is a chance for Brown to really get over that hump and provide a big week.” — Nick Mensio, Rotoworld
Trust or Bust: Kyle Allen (QB, CAR)
Trust: “Atlanta’s pass defense is practically nonexistent, so deep leaguers can take a chance on Kyle Allen to take advantage as numberFire’s projected QB14. Although Allen hasn’t been the most exciting fantasy quarterback this year, the Panthers are expected to rack up the points at home (27.50 implied total), and the Falcons have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing signal-callers.” — Kenyatta Storin, NumberFire.com
Trust: “This will be just the third home game for Allen this season, and he gets a favorable matchup against a Falcons defense that’s been gashed for 8.2 YPA, a 19:2 TD:INT ratio and a league-worst 113.2 Passer Rating. Allen is a strong flier at QB this week, while DJ Moore should be treated as a top-10 WR.” — Dalton Del Don, Yahoo! Sports
Bust: “Allen’s play has given the fanbase hope that he could possibly be a great stop-gap option for them at least, and a future QB at best. Those hopes will need to be held in check in Week 11 against a resurgent Atlanta Falcons team that will be eager to play spoiler for the Panthers season. Just one week removed from abusing Drew Brees and shocking the league by blowing out the Saints, the Falcons will now turn their focus to Carolina’s young QB.” — Derek McCauley, 5th Down Fantasy
5th Down Readers:
5 Down in Week 11
Carson Wentz (QB, PHI)
“The Eagles continued struggles to move the ball down the field consistently will be a major roadblock for Wentz’s fantasy value against the Patriots top-ranked secondary in Week 11. Add in the fact that Alshon Jeffery and Jordan Howard may not be available, and you have a very real reason to worry about his production in this matchup.” — Derek McCauley, 5th Down Fantasy
“Wentz has disappointed this season (6.8 YPA), and he gets the league’s No. 2 ranked pass defense DVOA this week with DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery and Jordan Howard all possibly out.” — Dalton Del Don, Yahoo! Sports
Todd Gurley (RB, LAR)
“Free Todd Gurley? Gurley has not caught a pass in consecutive games and has failed to catch multiple passes in five of his eight games this season. He has yet to have more than 18 carries in a game this season, and 45% of his points have come on plays in which he has scored, making him a (checks notes) touchdown-dependent RB2. Um, yeah. Free Todd Gurley! Sadly, I don’t think it happens this week against a Bears team that is fourth in yards-per-carry-against.” — Matthew Berry, ESPN.com
David Johnson (RB, ARI)
“There’s no way you can trust Johnson this week after his performance in Week 10 at Tampa Bay. He had five carries for 2 yards, along with one catch for 8 yards on one target, and he lost a fumble. He was benched down the stretch of that game in favor of Drake, and Drake could be the lead running back this week against the 49ers.” — Jamey Eisenberg, CBS Sports
Kenny Golladay (WR, DET)
“With Matthew Stafford nursing broken bones in his back, Golladay isn’t worth a one-week free trial. Yes, he scraped together a useful 2-55-1 line last week in Chicago with Jeff Driskel at the helm, but can lightning strike twice? It appears unlikely. The promoted backup did tally the 11th-best adjusted completion percentage of Week 10 but his 5.8 pass yards per attempt and 7.4 aDOT don’t inspire much confidence in future gains. Neither does the opponent. — Brad Evans, Yahoo! Sports
Zach Pascal (WR, IND)
“With Brissett battling a knee injury we believe Indy will try to lean on their running game and pass sparingly against the Jags talented secondary. As the teams de facto top receiving option, Pascal will likely see a healthy dose of A.J. Bouye on Sunday. We recommend him as a FLEX at best, but he should really stay on your bench this week if you can swing it.” — Derek McCauley, 5th Down Fantasy
